OMAGIECA Obo-ob Mangrove Garden Bantayan Island Cebu, Philippines

OMAGIECA
The Obo-ob Mangrove Garden Integrated Ecotourism and Conservation Association

Located in between Sta. Fe and the Bantayan town proper. There's a certain spot where you find this fascinating thing called the ''Balirong'' / "Miracle Hole", everyone thought that you're suppose to shoot a coin inside the bamboo. I'm not pretty sure that's the main idea, I asked the caretaker and I was right. The hole indicated is found right beside the signage where there are stones gather in the same area. These hole was said to be a nest of lots of fishes. They grow and live there and during harvest season they would place a big net on top of the hole and let out all the fishes. Asking questions is a great way to have a deeper understanding of what is really in front of you, wondering and pondering only leaves you astray.

How to get there: Cebu City -Bantayan Island

Terminal: Cebu North Bus Terminal
Ceres Bus fare air conditioned : 150 php Bus fare non-air conditioned: 132 php
Travel time: 3-4 hours.

At the Hagnaya Wharf you'll pay for the boat fare: 150 php and terminal fee: 10 php.

They are still planning to extend Omagieca, they placed a banner that clearly states the importance of Mangroves in our environment, beyond that point the sea is just around the corner.
