Tumalog Falls of Oslob

Tumalog Falls is incredibly beautiful and worth the visit. It is considered one of the most beautiful waters in Cebu. After we had our Whale Shark "Butanding" experience, off we went to the hidden and breathtaking curtain-like waterfalls of OslobLet's go!

If you're coming from Butanding whale-watching like us:
Just watch out for any Tumalog Falls signs along the road or show your biggest smile and ask the locals to avoid getting lost.

Whale Shark Briefing Area going to The Falls

Via Motorcycle/Van (2-way):
100 PHP - 120 PHP

Travel time: 20-30 minutes
Entrance Fee: 20 PHP

There's a parking area for vehicles but starting from the steep road, only motorcycles/'habal-habal' are allowed.  Even if the road has been cemented, it's a treacherous drive so be careful, especially going downhill.  It's advisable to avoid riding the motorcycle/'habal-habal' for safety purposes.

A nice walk will make you appreciate nature even better.  Walking to the falls will only take around 10 minutes, depending on your pace. The scenery along the way was beautiful; when the waterfall was in sight, it was definitely worth the travel.  Plus, during that day, a rugby team from another country was also there to experience the captivating waterfall.  What a great eye candy day!

There's always something mysterious about waterfalls; their beauty is always hidden from the world.  In order for you to see its wonders, you have to travel distances — walk for minutes or even hours before you reach your destination.  However, what awaits you at the end of the prolonged waiting is worth all the sweat.

I stood in awe as I looked up at what was above me.  Iwas like being under an enormous shower — sprinkles of water were everywhere as the wind gently blew from the sides.

Perfectly distant from the waterfall were
three chopped wood stumps.  As I sat on one of them, I wondered if they were meant to be chairs, placed just far enough from the waterfall's mist.  I decided to lie down and smiled at the scenery before my eyes.

When I tried to bend my head backwards, the view was spectacular.  This is what it looked like the clear blue sky meeting the trees above the waterfalls, branches perfectly covering the blazing sun, and the shower of curtains filling my eyes with wonder.  If there's star-gazing at night, then there must also be daylight-gazing.

Do you want more adventure?
If you still have one more day to spare why not go to Sumilon Island and have a relaxing weekend by the beach.

Where am I going next?
My next adventure is to check out a UNESCO World Heritage, The Chocolate Hills of Bohol.

    1. Hi Jobert,

The falls I came upon is the one closer to the entrance post. If I remembered it correctly I think the water level there is as low as ankle deep, or maybe just below the knee. It's a bit slippery so better watch out for that. However, the ride going to the falls is a bit scary so I don't recommend you to take the motorcyle. In addition to that, it's a strenuous walk going to the falls. I'm not sure if it's the right spot for your kids.

    1. Hey Blaize,

I'm not sure with Tumalog Falls, I hope they have the same schedule with the Butanding Activity. Whale shark watching is open everyday from 6 AM to 12:30PM.

      Try to contact them through email or SMS: info@oslobwhalesharks.com / +63 923 817 0837

They offer packages for both activities so maybe they can provide you accurate information regarding this matter.

      Thanks for dropping by! ^__^

    1. Hello Cj,

There's a lot of motorcycles and vans parked around the corner where you'll have your whale shark watching. No worries about that.

The earliest bus schedule I've tried was with Ceres Bus Liner around 3 in the morning.

Its better to be there by 6 am where only a few tourist is around.

Safe trip and have a blast. 😆

    1. Hi

After you're done with the whale watching activity you can check out the motorcycles parked nearby the area. They usually offer rides going to Tumalog Falls, maybe it's around 150 php nowadays or you can try to bargain with the driver. It's not that far maybe travel time would be less than 20-30 mins.

      Thank you for stopping by.

      Be safe and have fun!
